Friday brought the start of the month of April and with it, of course, April Fool's day. The teachers in second grade used the "holiday" as an opportunity to remind the students about the importance of maintaining our best behavior in the classroom. Our April Fool's prank for the kids was a role playing exercise in which the teachers told the students that they'd be trading places with the Preschool teachers to help remind everyone about the basic rules of Sharing and Caring that the class seemingly had forgotten recently.
Boy, were they upset! After we told them that it was all a joke, we had a discussion as a class about the ways we had all been acting a little "preschool-ish" (i.e. tattling, fighting, etc) and what we could all do to help each other out as second graders.
