You may have noticed the ornaments hanging from our classroom door this week, but if you haven't maybe it's because they're being swooped away by some generous friends! If you don't know what they're for, here's the info:
Each year BASE sponsors several families in need from our community to help make their holidays a little brighter! Each ornament has one item from the wish lists of these families. The items range from large to small so you can help out however you can! All you have to do is take an ornament, purchase the item, and bring it back to BASE unwrapped and with the original ornament taped to your gift by December 19th.
We've been so excited to see these ornaments flying off our door! On Wednesday we had 14 and today we have 5! Thank you all so much for helping a local family get the Christmas they deserve!
As for this week, it's been so much fun! We've kicked off Community Service Month by created projects inspired by RECYCLING! It's amazing what you can make out of "trash". With Mr. Bobby we made "A-Bottle-Able Snowmen" using recycled bottles and covering them with papier mached tissue paper. They were another one of Mr. Bobby's big hits! Ms. Stephanie used recycled bottled, too, and turned them into piggy banks for her project. With Ms. Nicky, the kids created paper beads using old magazines. What a great week!
