If you can see the photo to the left of our pal Riley posing with ALL THAT SUGAR you might be a little confused about what we did during Nutrition Week. Click the photo for a closer look and you'll see that each food on the table has a measurement of sugar next to it. The kids worked in groups to read the nutrition labels on various foods and we were SHOCKED to discover how much sugar was in each item! For example, if you were (for some crazy reason) to guzzle an ENTIRE bottle of chocolate syrup, do you know how much sugar you'd consume? About 285 grams! Yikes!
We also used this week to learn about the food pyramid with Mr. Bobby and created a Healthy Alphabet project with Ms. Stephanie. However, maybe the best part of the whole week was all the different foods we got to try! This week we ate (and even enjoyed) some of the following foods:
