Happy New Year, Second Grade Families! It’s 2010 and we’re back!
January is Storytelling Month here at BASE, and our class kicked off the first full week of the month with Fairy Tale Week. Each afternoon we read a new fairy tale such as The Emperor's New Clothes, Rumpelstiltskin, The Twelve Dancing Princesses, and others. We even worked together to write our own fairy tale called The King and the Golden Hot Tub!
Even our projects this week were fairy tale inspired. We made royal crowns and tiaras and even turned our classroom tent into a castle! The castle was a big project and looked awesome once it was done. It even has a working drawbridge!
Another project we worked on was illustrating our own copies of The King and the Golden Hot Tub. Check out our work in the photo gallery!
Also, just a reminder that this Friday, January 15, is the deadline to register for W.E.B.B. our Saturday Enrichment Program. Our classes this season include Art, Clay, Cooking, Drama, Fitness, French, Music, and Yoga! We’d really like to see these classes fill up so spread the word! See Ms. Nicky or Ms. Bridget for details!
